Vipassana (Silent meditation retreat for 10 full days)
Its an experience you will never forget and hopefully the first of many more to come... It will open your heart, your eyes, your body and your mind. Its not religious in fact it asks you to leave all religions at the door. Its about learning to be happy and accepting of everything around you, daily life... Its truly un believable and I would recommend everytone in the whole world to experience at least 1 vipassana course in his or her life time.
Yes it's hard, sitting for hours a day meditating, not talking to anyone for 10 days... but its incredible how still your mind becomes, its not filled with bullshit that surrounds you everyday, you are completely peaceful.
I can't convince you to take part, i can't explain what its actually like... but you will leave with the biggest smile and endless love.
There are courses all over the world...

I am considering taking a 10 day Vipassana course, but I am very apprehensive because of my physical and medical conditions. I am a male in my late 50s and have back and leg problems due to a severe automobile accident in the past. I frequently experience acute pain, "pins & needles" and numbness from just sitting in a chair or laying in bed. Additionally, I have a prostate condition that requires me to go to the bathroom to urinate frequently. I also take prescription medication for high blood pressure daily. Given my issues, are there any chairs available to sit in during the daily meditation will I be able to physically endure the regimen. I live in the US and would like to know before I travel all the way to India. Any advice and insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
